Maryland car accidents: Morning commute turned tragic

A Monday morning commute in Maryland can be stressful. Unfortunately, some commutes are cut short by unfortunate and tragic car accidents. Sadly, two people recently suffered serious injuries following a collision, resulting in one death.

Due to the continued investigation and collision reconstruction, some details are not yet clear. It is believed that the 36-year-old driver, a woman, had stopped and was beginning to cross westbound traffic lanes when the accident occurred. The other driver was traveling in one of the westbound lanes and was struck by the car crossing the traffic lanes.

The woman was trapped in her car and could not be removed to medically treat her before she died from her injuries. The other driver, a 21-year-old woman, also suffered injuries but is expected to survive. The accident cleanup and investigation closed the road for more than three hours. Neither driver is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol, and authorities have not filed any charges.

Car accidents such as this one can be complicated for all involved to process the aftermath. Some victims have to manage car insurance claims, medical treatment and miss work or school in the process. Other family members of deceased victims have to cope with the loss of a loved one, manage funeral expenses and lost time at work or school. Some find the process overwhelming and find it comforting to be advised by a personal injury attorney in Maryland. If a victim or family member of a deceased victim chooses to pursue a claim for compensation in civil court, attorneys are able to help navigate through the process.
