Authorities seek info in Maryland hit-and-run crash

Most Maryland drivers are aware that it is a requirement to stop when a vehicle is involved in an accident. Failing to stop and wait for authorities can result in serious hit-and-run charges for involved drivers of a crash in the likelihood that authorities will make an identification. Recently, authorities report two young adults were involved in a possible hit-and-run accident, and they are searching for the unknown driver.

The accident occurred at night, likely between two vehicles. Authorities believe that a dark-colored Ford Mustang may have been involved in the events that proceeded another vehicle driving off the road and crashing into an embankment. The crash resulted in the vehicle rolling over and ejecting the 23-year-old passenger.

Authorities believe that the Mustang struck the passenger after he was ejected from the other vehicle. The passenger suffered serious injuries, and the injuries are considered life-threatening. The 24-year-old driver of the vehicle also suffered serious injuries, but he is expected to survive. The investigation is still pending, and authorities hope locating the driver of the Mustang will aide in the investigation.

Accidents such as this one are not straightforward when it comes to sorting out insurance claims for medical and property damage. Crash victims with similar circumstances often find the assistance of a Maryland personal injury invaluable. Attorneys can assist with claims through the negligent party's insurance policy or assist with filing a personal injury lawsuit for financial losses above what insurance policies cover. In cases where negligent parties cannot be located or fail to have insurance, attorneys can assist victims with filing claims against their own insurance policy.
