Maryland car accidents: 2 crashes result in death and injuries

Stressful life events can place individuals in vulnerable circumstances. Unfortunately, car accidents can result in the victims being left unprotected in a number of different ways. Sadly, one recent collision in Maryland left several individuals defenseless, and they became victims of a second deadly collision.

Very early in the morning, two vehicles collided and were stopped in the lane where the collision occurred. The collision was classified as minor with no other defining details. Two individuals from the first collision were outside of their vehicles when another vehicle crashed into one of the first two cars. Sadly, the two people were also directly hit by the vehicle.

The 29-year-old driver of the third vehicle was arrested following the collision because evidence indicates that he may have been driving intoxicated. Sadly, one 45-year-old woman suffered severe injuries from the second collision and did not survive. At least five other individuals, including a passenger in the alleged intoxicated driver's vehicle, also suffered injuries as a result of the second collision and were all transported for medical care. Fortunately, all of the remaining injured victims are expected to survive their injuries.

Car accidents are unfortunate and often result in medical treatment, physical therapy and lost wages. Anyone who has recently received a medical bill can attest to the expensive cost of treatment. In addition, families of deceased victims are left to make numerous decisions about a loved one's burial and cover the costs in a very short amount of time.  Maryland personal injury attorneys can explain a victim's (including the surviving family of a deceased victim) options for legal recourse when negligent driving is suspected and explain options for obtaining compensation through car insurance or filing a lawsuit in civil court.
