Commercial truck accident in Maryland destroys home

As people wake up and begin to process their day, most would attest that they do not anticipate a trip to a hospital. In addition, most people feel safe within their home and cannot imagine the possibility off being a part of a horrific accident while in their home. A recent Maryland commercial truck accident surprised a family and left unsuspecting individuals in their home in need of medical care.

The accident occurred early on a recent morning when many individuals are just getting started in their day. The details of what proceeded are unclear, but the accident occurred after a tractor-trailer traveled through a roundabout. Apparently, the truck veered off of the road and crashed into the house containing two adults and two children.

Reportedly, the children were not injured but were trapped in the house with the two adults and the truck driver. Rescue crews had to work to remove the individuals in the unstable condition of the home and potentially compromised fuel tanks within the house and truck. One of the adults was trapped in between the truck, load-bearing walls and the home's furnace, making it a tricky removal. The Maryland Department of Environment was called to assist with the fuel tanks on the truck and within the house. The house was determined to be unstable after the tractor-trailer was removed by a tow truck.

Charges have not been filed and the investigation is still pending. A commercial truck accident such as this one are sudden and can result in serious damage. In addition to property damage, serious injuries can occur. Unsuspecting individuals injured in a similar accident may be unsure how to cover resulting financial expenses. Personal injury attorneys in Maryland can assist victims with understanding their legal options in civil court and options for possible compensation.
