Maryland head-on crash injures 6 individuals

A motor vehicle crash can change lives in an instant. Victims of car accidents usually are unaware of the changes in the quality of life that may be experienced following a collision. Not only are collisions an unfortunate inconvenience, but they can result in property damage, injury and/or death. The cost of medical treatment may result in short or long-term financial stress. Several injured individuals in Maryland have been recently plunged into the stressful aftermath of an unfortunate head-on crash.

The two vehicles that were involved in the collision were traveling in opposite directions on a Maryland road when the collision occurred. For unknown reasons, the car crossed over the median and crashed into the pickup truck in the opposite lane. Everyone suffered injuries, and authorities have not determined if charges will be filed.

The 38-year-old car driver and one of her teenage passengers suffered serious injuries. She and the teenager were air-lifted for trauma care but are suspected to survive. The other three teenage passengers in the woman's vehicle also suffered injuries, but the injuries are not expected to pose a threat to their lives. In addition, the pickup driver suffered injuries.

Authorities will be sure to examine the evidence to determine what actions may have resulted in the head-on crash. Drivers who are involved in similar accidents may discover that even minor injuries can rack up significant medical costs and car repairs. Maryland attorneys can assist victims of similar accidents to determine if the negligence of another driver may have resulted in a collision. If negligence is suspected, a personal injury lawsuit in civil court may be able to recoup some financial losses.
