Maryland car accidents can end in tragedy

The urge to drive just a little faster can be overpowering. Perhaps the Maryland resident is running late for work or in just in a hurry to get home. Regardless of the reason, speed limits are in place to keep drivers safe. When drivers choose to disregard these speed limits, car accidents are often the result.

Recently, the driver of a vehicle was speeding on Route 31. A police officer traveling in the opposite direction noticed the excessive speed and turned around in an attempt to detain the driver who was clocked driving in excess of 100 mph. Unfortunately, the officer caught up with the driver too late.

Apparently, the speeding vehicle crashed into the side of another vehicle headed in the same direction. Fortunately, no one in this sideswiped vehicle was injured; however, the speeding vehicle then entered into oncoming traffic and crashed into another vehicle before landing in a ditch. The car burst into flames and the drivers and passengers in both of these vehicles were killed.

It is unclear as to why the one driver was speeding; however, the decision to do so resulted in four deaths. The family of those who lost their lives as the apparent result of another individual's decision to speed is now left with possible emotional and financial devastation. In an effort to recover, it is possible that they will decide to sue the estate of the driver who apparently caused the accident. Far too many Maryland car accidents result in tragedy; however, by pursuing a claim through the Maryland courts, it is often possible for the family to recover monetary damages for the harm caused.
