Failure to maintain lane causes Maryland head-on crash

Learning of any accident, no matter how severe, can leave a Maryland resident upset. Learning that a motorist caused a head-in crash by failing to stay in the correct lane is horrifying. Just such an incident has reportedly happened on a recent afternoon, killing one and severely injuring another.

Maryland State Police are investigating a motor vehicle accident that took place on a recent Saturday. Just after 1 p.m., a SUV traveling east on a local road in Westminster apparently crossed the double, yellow line and crashed into a pickup truck straight on. Due to the accident, the area was closed off to the public, allowing personnel to investigate and clean up the scene.

The operator of the pickup truck, a 29-year-old male, was pronounced dead on-site by first responders. His passenger, a female in her late 20's, suffered a head injury and was flown to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police believe the driver of the SUV was impaired at the time the accident took place. No charges have been filed at this time, but police are continuing to investigate the incident to determine the cause of the collision.

Any accident is devastating, not only those involved but also their families as well. Although no sum of money can provide adequate compensation for the loss of a loved one or the pain and suffering one has endured, many Marylanders facing these circumstances seek justice in civil court by filing personal injury or wrongful death claims. A successful claim could help alleviate any financial burden associated with a head\-on crash
